Travis Etienne Finds New Home

One of the most explosive offensive weapons in recent Jacksonville Jaguars history is on the move. Running back Travis Etienne Jr. is reportedly leaving Jacksonville and signing with the New Orleans Saints, marking a major shift for both franchises as the 2026 NFL offseason begins. According to multiple reports, Etienne agreed to a four-year contract worth approximately $52 million with New Orleans, making him one of the most notable free-agent moves early in the NFL offseason.

Etienne’s departure closes a significant chapter for the Jaguars. Drafted 25th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Clemson, he was selected to reunite with his college quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, and quickly became a central piece of Jacksonville’s offense.

After missing his rookie year due to injury, Etienne emerged as one of the Jaguars’ most dynamic playmakers. Over his career in Jacksonville, he totaled:

3,798 rushing yards

1,338 receiving yards

32 total touchdowns

His ability to impact the game both on the ground and as a receiver made him a matchup problem for defenses and a key component of Jacksonville’s offensive identity.

The Jaguars ultimately chose not to place the franchise tag on Etienne, allowing the running back to enter unrestricted free agency and explore the market.

For the Saints, Etienne brings elite speed, versatility, and proven production. He has shown the ability to handle a full workload while also contributing heavily in the passing game—traits that fit well in modern NFL offenses.

For the Jaguars, the move signals another roster change as the organization continues reshaping its offense heading into the 2026 season.

Travis Etienne’s time in Jacksonville will be remembered for explosive runs, big-play ability, and the dynamic connection he shared with Trevor Lawrence. Now, the Louisiana native begins a new chapter in New Orleans, where expectations will be high for him to spark the Saints’ offense.

While Jaguars fans may be disappointed to see him go, Etienne’s legacy in Jacksonville is secure—and his next journey in the NFL is just beginning.
