The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing back a familiar face in their secondary. The organization announced that cornerback Montaric Brown has been re-signed, keeping the young defensive back in Jacksonville as the team continues to build stability on defense.
Brown played a key role for the Jaguars during the 2025 season, appearing in 15 games and making 12 starts. During that time, he totaled 47 tackles, recorded a team-high 12 passes defensed, and added two interceptions, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing passing attacks. His performance helped solidify Jacksonville’s defensive backfield throughout the season.
Originally selected by the Jaguars in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, Brown has steadily developed into a reliable contributor in the secondary. Over the course of his NFL career, he has appeared in 52 games with 29 starts, compiling 161 tackles (six for loss), 24 passes defensed, and three interceptions.
Before entering the NFL, Brown built an impressive collegiate career at the University of Arkansas. The Ashdown, Arkansas native played in 42 games with 34 starts for the Razorbacks from 2018 to 2021. During that time, he recorded 132 tackles, 23 passes defensed, seven interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries, establishing himself as one of Arkansas’ most dependable defensive backs.
By re-signing Brown, the Jaguars maintain continuity in their defensive secondary while retaining a player who has proven capable of stepping into a starting role. His experience within Jacksonville’s system and his ability to defend the pass will continue to be valuable assets as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
With the Jaguars continuing to retain key contributors on defense this offseason, Brown’s return adds another important piece as Jacksonville looks to strengthen its roster heading into the 2026 campaign.
