Jaguars Resign Two Players

The Jacksonville Jaguars are continuing their steady offseason roster building by bringing back two players who quietly played important roles down the stretch in 2025. The team announced that running back and return specialist DeeJay Dallas and defensive lineman Matt Dickerson have both been re-signed, reinforcing depth on special teams and in the trenches.

Dallas appeared in three games with Jacksonville last season after joining the team in December, but he made his presence felt immediately in the return game. He handled six kickoff returns for 180 yards and chipped in offensively with two carries for 21 yards.

Originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round (144th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft, Dallas brings valuable experience across multiple phases of the game. Over his career — which has included stops with Seattle (2020–23), Arizona (2024), Carolina (2025), and Jacksonville (2025) — he has appeared in 84 games.

His career production highlights his versatility:

  • 124 rushes for 538 yards and four touchdowns
  • 64 receptions for 407 yards and two touchdowns
  • 89 kickoff returns for 2,254 yards and one touchdown
  • 39 punt returns for 367 yards

For a Jaguars team that has emphasized field position and special teams consistency, keeping Dallas in the fold provides a reliable option who understands the system and can contribute in multiple roles.

On the defensive side, Matt Dickerson earned his opportunity late in the season and made the most of it. After starting the year on the practice squad, Dickerson played in the Jaguars’ final eight games of 2025 and started the last four regular season contests.

During that stretch, he recorded 10 tackles (including one for loss), two quarterback hits, and one pass defensed. He was also part of a Jacksonville defense that finished as the NFL’s top run-stopping unit, allowing just 85.6 rushing yards per game — a testament to the physical presence up front.

Dickerson added two tackles in the team’s Wild Card matchup, further showing his value in meaningful games.

A veteran presence, Dickerson has appeared in 48 career regular season games with the Titans, Falcons, Chiefs, Dolphins, and Jaguars, totaling 52 tackles (four for loss) and five quarterback hits.

While these moves may not grab national headlines, they reflect Jacksonville’s commitment to continuity and depth — two elements that often separate playoff teams from contenders. Keeping players who understand the locker room culture, special teams expectations, and defensive identity is a key part of sustaining success.

As the Jaguars continue shaping their roster this offseason, re-signing Dallas and Dickerson ensures they maintain experienced contributors who can step in whenever their number is called — whether that’s flipping field position or anchoring the defensive front.
