The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed QB John Rhys Plumlee to the practice squad, the team announced today.
JRP spent five seasons in college football as a signal caller for Mississippi (2019-2021) and Central Florida (2022-2023). In 52 career games, he totals 5,838 passing yards with 34 touchdowns and 2,556 rushing yards with 28 touchdowns.
During his senior season with the Knights in 2023, he broke the UCF program record for most career rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,334.
Rhys Plumlee participated in training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers after signing as an undrafted free agent in late April. He served as the team's fourth-string quarterback through his first training camp, completing three passes for 32 yards with four yards on the ground.
He also logged 23 snaps across various special teams positions, most notably returning six kickoffs for 145 yards (24.2 Per) and two punts for 16 yards (8.0 Per).
