KJ Bolden signed with Georgia as the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 1 safety in the 2024 class on 247Sports. He was one of the five members of the Dawgs' top-rated 2024 recruiting class to enroll as a five-star prospect.
The 6"0, 185-pound Buford, Georgia native was the only Bulldog elected to the true freshman team. Georgia did not have a player selected to ESPN's 2023 preseason true freshman All-American team.
Head coach Kirby Nick Saban asked Smart at SEC Media Days if he had any newcomers who could play a pivotal role for Georgia in 2024.
"I think KJ Bolden has a chance to really help us out," Smart said. "He's athletic, he's intelligent, he comes from a really good high school program," said Smart.
He got 15 practices in the spring and he approaches every practice like a veteran. Like where he is right now is ahead of probably where Malaki (Starks) was at that time and Malaki was able to play as a freshman. I'm excited about what KJ is gonna do."
