Florida Secures 2025 Legacy Commit: Four-Star CB Ben Hanks Jr.

Fox Sports Radio Jacksonville

The Florida Gators had no commitments at the cornerback position heading into Friday. However, Billy Napier and company made another splash today on the recruiting trail, landing a top target in the 2025 class.

Four-star cornerback Ben Hanks Jr. has committed to Coach Napier and the Gators. Hanks is another legacy commit; his father, Ben Hanks, is a former All-SEC linebacker for the Gators under coach Steve Spurrier.

The 6"1 - 170 pound Miami native out of Booker T. Washington High School is the 12th-ranked cornerback in the nation, the 18th-ranked prospect in Florida, and the 105th-ranked player overall in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.

“I know my dad had a legacy there. For me to go there, it would continue the legacy,” Hanks said. “They have the coaching staff, the environment there, and it’s a winning program. The winning mentality there is amazing. Coach (Billy) Napier wants me to be a Gator, stay home, and continue the legacy.”

Hanks marks commitment No. 13 for Billy Napier and company and the second legacy recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, which now ranks 30th nationally and 12th in the SEC.
