It's being described as a luxury country club without a golf course. A developer is working on a community with two race tracks along the Treasure Coast.
"Maybe they have a high-performance car sitting in their garage. They can't really drive it to its potential without getting in trouble. We offer them a safer controlled environment to really enjoy the sport and drive the car the way it's meant to be driven."
Ari Straus is CEO of P1 Motor Club, which is going up west of Port St. Lucie.
He tells CBS 12 News that in addition to the race tracks, P1 will feature 125 condos and custom garages on a site that used to be a citrus grove.
County Commissioner Cathy Townsend is looking forward to what it brings to the table.
"I know that you're going to be an asset to the economy in this community."
A groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday.
The motor club is expected to open early next year.
