(Delray Beach, Fla.) -- Slick grass at the All England Club took down Delray Beach tennis star Coco Gauff Monday as she lost to American challenger Sofia Kenin from Pembroke Pines.
Kenin took the first set 6-4 in the first round of Wimbledon women's singles. Gauff answered back in the second, slipping and sliding to a 6-4 hold. In the third set, Kenin broke Gauff twice to win 6-2.
Gauff was ranked 7th in the world at the start of the match had 19-errors on her forehand.
Venus Williams also slipped and fell on the slick grass, hyper-extending her already-injured knee. She lost in the first round 6-4, 6-2 to Elina Svitolina.
