In conclusion, this one hurt.
I could sum up this entire game with "this one hurt". A game in which the Jacksonville Jaguars could have put a firm step forward into righting the wayward ship that has been on bad water this season, but at last that didn't happen.
Now the score will tell you that yesterday's contest was a good one. However film, depending which team you're rooting for, will tell a different story. Those that get up in the morning and cheer for the boys in teal are straying away from the water cooler conversations about their team who now sit at 2-6 on the season.
We have to ask though, what can be done to fix this? As of right now there are no answers insight.
At the start of this contest it seemed as if the Jaguars were ready. Defense came out and forced a 3 and out against the Packers. The offense struggle at the outset, but found their footing eventually.
At the end of the 1st Quarter, the score was tied at 0. That was a façade and we are led on to believe that it would be the day we see the emergence of the cardiac cats.
Why you ask? In this game we saw Jordan Love go down. All three starting wide receivers of the Jaguars fell to some type of injury. Christian Kirk with a shoulder injury, Brian Thomas Jr. with a chest injury, and Gabe Davis with a shoulder injury as well.
Even with all of that, the game was still in hand. A late touchdown to Evan Engram saw the Jags take the lead, but it was for not after back up Malik Willis led the charge to take the lead back. To top all of this off, the game was ended of the foot of a former Jaguar, Brandon McManus. This one hurt.
It was rough. Stats for the day were as follows:
Trevor Lawrence was 21/32, with 308 yards in the air. accompanied with 2 touchdowns and one interception. Tank Bigsby had 18 carries for 78 yards. Foye Oluokun made his return and led with 9 total tackles.
The road doesn't get any easier from here as the Jaguars head to the city of brotherly love to take on the Eagles next week.
