Florida State Injury Updates Ahead of Clemson

Fox Sports Radio Jacksonville

Florida State is preparing to take on the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night in Doak Campbell Stadium following a blowout loss to SMU in Dallas.

Norvell shared earlier this week that OL Richie Leonard IV will miss the rest of the 2024 season.

The Florida transfer started the first three games of the season and saw playing time against California before missing the SMU game.

“I meant to mention that in the opening but Richie Leonard will be out for the rest of the season,” Mike Norvell said. “Unfortunately, has had an injury that he’s been dealing with and it’s kind of gotten to the point where it’s greatly affecting his ability to be able to go out there and play. So, he’ll be out for the rest of the year, unfortunately.”

During his time in Gainesville, Leonard played in 31 games and started 14, 12 of which were at left guard.

In the latest depth chart release from FSU, the guard position is somewhat unknown. Keiondre Jones and Bryson Estes are listed as co-starters at left guard, while TJ Ferguson and Andre’ Otto are co-starters at right guard.

On Monday morning, it was revealed that DJ Uiagalelei is dealing with an injury and is expected to miss at least a few weeks. DJU was sidelined at the tail end of the SMU game. The TV broadcast showed the FSU medical staff examining Uiagalelei's throwing hand.

Redshirt Freshman Brock Glenn is set to make his first start of the 2024 season.

Glenn saw action in last week's loss to SMU following DJ Uiagalelei leaving the contest early with an injury; he did not record a stat aside from going 0/4 passing.

Glenn was thrust into the starting role last season for FSU following injuries to Jordan Travis and Tate Rodemaker, starting against Louisville in the ACC Championship and against Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

Florida State is set to kickoff vs Clemson in Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m.
