After Florida State ended its losing streak to start the 2024 season with a victory over California on Saturday night, the Seminoles received great news on the recruiting trail.

The Garnet & Gold landed a commitment from a top running back target in the 2025 class, Byron Louis.

Per 247Sports Rankings, Louis is the No. 221 nationally ranked prospect, No. 17 running back prospect, and No. 35 Florida prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Head coach Mike Norvell and running backs coach David Johnson have been hard-pressed on Louis' recruiting journey since the beginning of the year.

Louis was hosted on the Florida State campus in January and has remained in contact with the coaching staff leading up to his commitment on Saturday night.

Louis made official visits to Miami, Georgia, and Wisconsin during June, opting to wait to make his final commitment decision.

The Plantation, Florida native and American Heritage standout back has totaled 65 carries for 466 yards and four touchdowns to begin his senior season.

In 2023, Louis toted the rock 160 times for 1,224 yards and 18 touchdowns with seven receptions for 23 yards.

In 2022, Louis recorded 55 carries for 439 yards and 11 touchdowns with two receptions for 18 yards.

The Seminoles' 2025 recruiting class now has 12 total commitments. The class rank has jumped from No. 35 to No. 27 according to 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.
