Florida State Four-Star Defensive Tackle Commit Flips to Texas

Fox Sports Radio Jacksonville

Florida State's disappointing start to the 2024 season extends into the bye week. The Seminoles have their first decommitment as four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles has flipped from Florida State to Texas.

Charles chose Florida State over Texas and other programs back in June. The decommitment leaves FSU with two defensive line commits in the 2025 recruiting cycle: four-star DT Kevin Wynn and four-star EDGE Javion Hilson.

According to the 247Sports rankings, the Seminoles' 2025 class rank moves from No. 18 to No. 22. Twelve commits remain for FSU.

The decision shouldn't be surprising with how the seasons have begun for these two programs. Texas just went into the Big House and splattered Michigan, and Florida State is 0-2 in conference play a week into September.
