A Ukrainian mother living in Sunny Isles Beach is at the center of this gruesome crime caught on Ring camera video footage.
Yulia Storozhuk,29, was reported to authorities by a neighbor in their condo. On that (GRAPHIC) video, Storozhuk is seen kicking, shoving and even throwing the child down the hallway of their condo in the 17000 block of North Bay Road.
Police arrested Storozhuk on Tuesday after a neighbor reported the abuse to authorities Monday.
The mother said this was "the only incident" where she let her temper "get the better of me." She said she had never abused her child before.
Sunny Isles Beach police Chief Edward Santiago said the clip, two in one day, at 9:06 and 9:44 were infuriating to watch. The Florida Department of Children and Families is also investigating.
The judge ordered Storozhuk to have no contact with her son.
Storozhuk released from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond as of Wednesday afternoon. The child is in the custody of the State Dept of Children and Families. His mother is due back in court in about thirty days.
