Corner Brian Edwards announced his decision to part ways with the Gators Football Program, on Twitter, Monday morning.
"First I want to say thank you to the University of Florida for all they have done for me for the past two years, Unfortunately, I will be entering the transfer portal and looking to further my education and athletic ability elsewhere.
"This was a very tough decision for me. I have built great relationships, impacted others, and grown so much throughout my time attending the University. My time being at the University of Florida I have had some ups and downs but I will forever cherish my time here as a gator."
Edwards, a junior, had been arrested in May on a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly choking his girlfriend. He was subsequently suspended from the team indefinitely, though he remained on campus taking classes.
