The University of Georgia has dismissed top wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman from the team, Jackie Gutknecht of Covington News reports.
“Jeremiah Holloman no longer represents the University of Georgia football program. We expect every member of our team to uphold the highest standards and values of the University of Georgia and Georgia football. It is disappointing when this does not happen.” - UGA head coach Kirby Smart to Covington News
The dismissal comes after an investigation into an incident in which Holloman allegedly choked and struck a woman in the face in late April. The victim did not wish to pursue the case criminally, and it was passed on to the UGA Student Conduct office and the Office of Equal Opportunity.
Holloman was the top returning receiver from last year with 24 catches for 418 yards and five touchdowns.
