In the recently released sixth episode of his podcast Menace2Society, former OSU assistant Zach Smith stated that he believed former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer will soon end up as the head coach of USC:
“How about this — I’m from Dublin, Ohio and know hundreds of people, like everyone would who grew up somewhere. Coincidentally, that’s where Urban lives. I probably know someone who either cuts your grass, works with the guy who cuts your grass or I know someone that is around you.
“Someone that I know that works in the United States Postal Service dropped a bomb on me last week. He tells me that Urban Meyer’s house has had certified mail sent to and from the University of Southern California. I’m talking several letters. I don’t know that he has communicated with them, and it’s a decent source, I would put $1,000 that he would be the head coach at USC in the near future.” Zach Smith on his podcast Menace2Society
Meyer stepped down as head coach of Ohio State after the 2019 season, which included a tumultuous start as he was suspended for the first three games as part of a controversy involving failure to properly address domestic violence allegations against Smith.
