Cody Kessler has been released by the Jaguars.
Jacksonville sent a late-round draft pick to acquire Kessler from Cleveland last summer. Kessler replaced Bortles in the starting lineup when Bortles was benched ahead of a Week 13 game against the Colts. Kessler was the starter for four games before Bortles returned to the lineup for the second half of Week 16 and the season finale.
Kessler was 85-of-131 for 709 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in 2018
