Kirk Bohl's of the Austen-American Statesmen, is reporting Texas is seeking a home-and-home series with Florida for the 2030 and 2031 seasons. The two sides have not faced each other in the regular season since 1940.
Bohls did note, however, that an in-state showdown between Texas and Texas A&M does not seem possible before 2032. Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte reportedly told him, “It’s too soon to have a conversation on that.”
I’m hearing that Texas is trying to arrange a home-and-home series with Florida for 2030-31, though Del Conte wouldn’t confirm that. So 2032 would be the earliest that rivalry game could be played unless a contract is bought out.
Florida has not left the state for a true Power 5 non conference road games since 1991 when they played Syracuse in up state New York.
