Nick Saban has had the task of replacing 7 coaching from his staff this offseason, on Friday the announcement was made that Alabama has hired Steve Sarkisian as their new Offensive Coordinator. Nick Saban released a statement on the hires:
“We are excited to be able to assemble such a talented group of coaches to develop our players both on and off the field. These coaches have a great mix of energy, enthusiasm and experience that will be a tremendous asset to our program. They are all excellent teachers of the game and fantastic recruiters who bring a wealth of experience to our staff.”
Sarkisian was already on the Alabama Coaching Staff, and even slid into the role off Offensive Coordinator when Lane Kiffin left before the 2016 National Title game to coach FAU.
For the Defensive side of the ball Pete Golding has been promoted to Defensive Coordinator after being the Co-Defensive Coordinator last season.
