Less than a month after Former Hurricanes defensive coordinator Manny Diaz took over as Temple’s new head coach — he is headed back to Miami to take lead the Hurricanes as their new head coach.
“Manny is one of the nation’s elite coaches and the Canes Family has already embraced him and his incredible work ethic over the past three years,” Miami athletic director Blake James said in a statement late Sunday night. “He is absolutely the passionate and innovative leader that our program needs and we will work together to build an incredible staff to move our program back into championship contention.”
In his three years as Miami’s defensive coordinator, Diaz's defense was a solid, with the Hurricanes finishing the regular season as the nation’s second-ranked defense.
