The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted undrafted rookie CB Quenton Meeks from the practice squad to the team’s 53-man active roster. To make room on the roster, the club released fourth-year WR Rashad Greene Sr.
Meeks, 6-1, 209, was originally signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie this spring following a 39-game collegiate career at Stanford, where he totaled 121 tackles, 25 passes defensed and seven INTs. He was waived during final roster reductions on Sept. 1 but has spent the first four weeks of the season on the Jaguars’ practice squad after signing on Sept. 2. Meeks, the son of 22-year NFL assistant coach Ron Meeks, grew up in San Diego, Calif. and was a three-sport (football, track and field, baseball) athlete at Del Norte H.S. Meeks will wear No. 43 for the Jaguars.
