UGA DB Reed: SEC Championship Doesn't Mean Anything

Georgia defensive back J.R. Reed spoke to reporters outside of the Omni hotel in Atlanta prior to SEC Media Days at the CFB Hall of Fame, and made an interesting statement regarding the SEC Championship game:

“The ultimate goal is to win the natty, and the SEC Championship doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win the national championship. So that’s where we are right now.” - UGA DB J.R. Reed via DawgNation

If you're a Georgia fan, you have to like this kind of mindset. It shows that the Bulldogs won't simply be satisfied by winning the SEC championship, and shows that they have lofty goals. Most of all, it shows the type of program Kirby Smart is in the process of building in Athens. With how far the Bulldogs have come since he took over, it wouldn't be surprising if they cash in on those goals with that mindset.
