A district judge ruled in favor of former UCF Kicker Donald De La Haye Tuesday by denying a request by UCF to dismiss the lawsuit De La Hay has brought against the school.
De La Haye was forced to choose between his football scholarship and his youtube channel. Due to NCAA amateurism rules, De La Haye could not keep his scholarship if he continued to make money off of his youtube channel. De La Haye chose his youtube channel, and is suing the school for violation of his first amendment rights.
The ruling will allow De La Haye to move forward with his lawsuit against UCF.
