Tim Tebow is one of 5 Binghampton Rumble Ponies selected for the Eastern Lague All-Star Classic, and he heads into the break on a 6 game hitting streak. This is the second time this season he has been on such a streak, also hitting in 6 straight games back in Late-June. Tebow is batting .353 with five RBI's and two multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 performance to begin this streak. His season has averaged has jumped up to .270 after having dipped down to .234 in Mid-June.
Via Binghampton.com Tebow said what it meant to him to make the All-Star team in his first year of AA Baseball :
"It's a great honor and it's a privilege, and it's something I'm looking forward to. But, not necessarily something that I focus on because honors are great, and they can come and go. But, we have a game tonight, we have a lot more in the season, we just have to continue to focus on the process and improving. It's the same thing that we've talked about every week for, I don't know, the last two months. There's been weeks when it's been bad, there's been weeks when it's been good. But I think the one thing for me is just been constantly focusing on the things we've talked about every week. On improving, on the little things, on the task at hand on that day," he said.
The All-Star game will be Wednesday, July 11th.
