Former Ole Miss Rebel QB Shea Patterson has signed a 2019 deal with the Texas Rangers after being drafted by the Rangers in the 39th round of the MLB draft. This deal will allow him to play baseball with the club after completing his remaining football eligibility with Michigan, where he transferred in December, and was granted immediate eligibility to play with the Wolverines.
Patterson played the first seven games of last season with Ole Miss before suffering a season ending knee injury. He is expected to be the starter for Michigan going into the season, and could potentially be a first round prospect for the 2019 NFL Draft. Patterson has not played baseball since his junior year in high school.
