Spring of 2019 will be when the Alliance of American Football kicks of their inaugural season, and Steve Spurrier is not shy about being interested in the idea of coaching fellow UF Heisman winning QB Tim Tebow. “I told Tim Tebow if for some reason his baseball career doesn’t work out, we have a No. 15 down in Orlando waiting for him,” Spurrier said on The Paul Finebaum Show Friday Afternoon.
The former first round NFL draft selection has been having a solid season so far. In his first 61 games with Binghampton the AA Mets Minor league team this year, Tebow batted .245 with 4 home runs and 23 RBIs. Mets GM Sandy Alderson has come out publicly and stated that he believes Tebow will make it to the major leagues, but that doesn't mean anyone will stop talking about his comeback anytime soon. And the Ol' Ball Coach appears to be one of many looking to change the 30-year-old's mind.
