Miami Hurricanes and Mark Richt are working towards a deal to keep him in Coral Gables. Richt, 58, lead the Hurricanes to their first 10-win season in 15 years and their first bowl win in ten years. Miami hired Richt in December 2015, since then he's also lead them to their first Coastal Division Title and their first appearance in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game.
The Hurricanes are coming off a year in which not only they won 10 games, they also went on a 15-game winning streak dating back to 2016. Snapping a 7-game losing streak to Florida State and upset 3rd ranked Notre Dame. Richt also became the first Miami coach to win ACC Coach of the Year.
Miami's success in recent years under him is a source of pride for Richt as he is not only a Miami alumn, but a former quarterback under former head coach Howard Schnellenberger.
