Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson said on The Midday 180 that the team is planning to pick up QB Marcus Mariota's fifth year option on Wednesday.
It's an obvious move, and this statement only comes a day after the Buccaneers announced they were picking up the fifth year option on their own franchise quarterback, Jameis Winston. Mariota struggled last year, despite the Titans making it to the second round of the playoffs before getting tossed by the Patriots. Mariota regressed, only throwing 13 touchdowns to 15 interceptions. The Titans are hoping that their new coaching staff, led by Mike Vrabel, will get Mariota back on track.
