While American children like Barney and Teletubbies, kids in Finland head out to concerts by Hevisaurus, a heavy metal band made up of four dinosaurs and a dragon.
According to legend, the group was born after five dinosaur eggs made of metal survived extinction and 65 million years. The eggs were unearthed by lightening in 2009 and gathered by witches, whose chants caused the eggs to explode open and the "creatures" to emerge.
These days, Herra Hevisaurus, Milli Pilli, Komppi Momppi, Riffi Raffi and Muffi Puffi entertain the children of the world and do a pretty good job of it. They've made seven albums, sold over 170,000 records in Finland alone and sell out their tours. They even have a movie coming out.
The group sings about warriors, dragons, food, funny animals and other things of interest to 2 to 7 year olds. If it's something you think you or your kids might be interested in, you can click here, but you'll have to be able to read Finnish to understand what it says.
