The Foundation for Scottish Athletics (FSA), who has been part of the St. Augustine Highland Games since the festival's inception, is leading a community effort to continue the St. Augustine Celtic Festival & Highland Games and St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2027 following the announcement that the longstanding festival would not return under its previous organizers.
Initially, the FSA began exploring other locations for a St. Patrick's Day weekend Highland Games. But after conversations between the FSA Board, Highland athletes, and members of the local Celtic community, they decided to focus efforts on preserving the beloved St. Augustine tradition. The Foundation for Scottish Athletics has secured Saturday, March 13, 2027, with the City of St. Augustine for the festival at Francis Field and the Celtic St. Patrick's Day Parade. The organization is working through the City's event planning and permitting process, with additional meetings planned with City representatives. Current plans for the event include Highland Games athletics, Celtic clans, vendors, food, music and entertainment, along with the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The Foundation for Scottish Athletics is accepting donations to help save the St. Augustine Celtic Festival & Highland Games and ensure this community tradition continues in 2027. All proceeds from the Save St. Augustine fundraising effort will go toward costs associated with making the festival possible, including permitting, Francis Field, insurance, entertainment, equipment and other event expenses.

The effort is being organized with the help of volunteers, event organizers and team leaders who are stepping forward from St. Augustine and throughout the Celtic and Highland Games communities.
FSA will release additional information about the 2027 festival, parade, volunteer opportunities, vendors, clans, entertainment, sponsorships and tickets as planning progresses.
