Georgia RB Branson Robinson To Miss Time with MCL Injury

Fox Sports Radio Jacksonville

The Georgia Bulldogs are entering the gauntlet stretch of the season with a primetime road matchup with the Texas Longhorns this week.

Coming off the Mississippi State win, the Mean Machine hopes to get some players back before heading to Austin.

Runningback Branson Robinson went down during Saturday's game with what appeared to be a lower leg injury. Robinson returned to the field in 2024 after missing all last season with a ruptured patella tendon.

Branson has seen an increased role out of the backfield with Roderick Robinson still recovering from a turf toe injury.

"Branson has an MCL, I don't know how many weeks it'll be, he will not be able to play this week", said Coach Smart. Timeline is impossible to tell becaasue the MCL will have to repair itself. It was not the same leg injury that he had. It's a different."

With both Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson out with injuries, depth in the backfield will be a cause for concern.

Trevor Etienne has hit his stride in the last couple of weeks, freshman Nate Frazier has been a real contributor, and Cash Jones has seen his fair share of action. This area will be monitored for the Dawgs in their matchup with the Texas Longhorns.
