The Florida Gators are preparing for a primetime matchup in the Swamp vs the UCF Knights on Saturday.
The Gators are coming off a bye, which came at a great time as Florida is still battling the injury bug at critical positions.
As the game is a non-conference game, Florida is not required to release an availability report. However, for SEC conference games, teams must provide an updated injury report on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening before the final pregame injury report ahead of kickoff.
Star WR Eugene Wilson II has been sidelined since the Samford game with a knee injury. Wilson went through a procedure before the Mississippi State game.
"He's done some things in practice. He took reps today... We feel good about his progress, that's what I would say. He's on-schedule," Napier said.
No other information was provided on Wilson's status. The Gators were banged up in the defensive backfield against Mississippi State: Ja'Keem Jackson and Aaron Gates did not play.
In the trenches, defensive linemen Michai Boireau and Joey Slackman also missed the Mississippi State game, and offensive lineman Roderick Kearney did not play.
As the game against UCF is a non-conference game, it is uncertain who will play, although Napier stated he expected multiple players to return after the bye week.
Florida's matchup with UCF kicks off at 7:45 p.m. on the SEC Network.
