The Jacksonville Jaguars are fighting the injury bug entering Week 5 and ahead of their AFC South matchup with the Colts on Sunday.
Head coach Doug Pederson updated the status of six Jaguars starters battling injuries on Monday. This was highlighted by confirmation that defensive star Josh Hines-Allen has entered the NFL's concussion protocol following a collision against the Houston Texans in Week 4.
Evan Engram (hamstring) and Darnell Savage Jr. (quadriceps) missed a third consecutive game Sunday.
“Evan, I think is going to be day-to-day right now. Felt good today, we’ll see where he’s at here in a couple of days.”
Savage was questionable throughout the week before being deemed out on Saturday.
Pederson made note that Savage hasn't undergone a setback in recovery. The coach mentioned he wasn't 100% throughout practice entering the weekend, opting to keep him sidelined Sunday.
“I’m hoping Savage [will be available in Week 5]. He went last week. Pushed it pretty hard. Didn’t feel like he could really open up last week – not a setback, nothing like that. We’ve just got to get him to burst,” said Pederson.
Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder) and Anton Harrison (ankle) will "be fine" after getting banged up in the loss vs the Texans, per Pederson.
Devin Lloyd (knee) was deemed inactive ahead of kickoff last week. Lloyd appeared on the injury report last Thursday and was questionable entering Sunday's contest.
Pederson stated Friday that Lloyd is dealing with soreness and should also "be fine."
