The Jaguars released an updated depth chart on Tuesday for their second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday.
The depth chart is practically the same as last week, except for Tashaun Gipson Sr.'s addition, which is slated behind Darnell Savage Jr., Andrew Wingard, Terrell Edmunds, and Josh Proctor.
I opted to wait until the conclusion of practice this week to analyze the depth chart for Saturday's game.
Quarterback (QB)
- Trevor Lawrence
- Mac Jones
- C.J. Beathard
Mac Jones retains the No. 2 signal-caller spot, although last week, C.J. Beathard entered the game in relief of Trevor Lawrence and exited the first quarter against the Chiefs.
With Trevor Lawrence not playing as the team plans to sit their starters following two joint practices with the Buccaneers on Wednesday and Thursday, either Jones or Beathard will start the first half and the other the second half.
"Right now, Trevor, with getting all the reps here, he won't go. It'll be Mac (Jones) and C.J. (Beathard), they'll split half a piece," he added.
In 7-on-7 periods against the Buccaneers, Lawrence completed 13-of-18 passes for seven touchdowns and 18-of-27 passes for one TD in 11-on-11 periods with zero turnovers during the two joint practices this week.
Running Back (RB)
- Travis Etienne Jr.
- Tank Bigsby
- D'Ernest Johnson
- Jalen Jackson
- Keilan Robinson
- Gary Brightwell
Wide Receiver (WR)
- WR1: Christian Kirk - Parker Washington - Brevin Easton - Austin Trammell
- WR2: Brian Thomas Jr. - Devin Duvernay - Tim Jones - Denzel Mims - Joseph Scates
- WR3: Gabe Davis - Elijah Cooks - Seth Williams - Joshua Cephus
Christian Kirk did not participate in either of the joint practices with the Buccaneers as he deals with a "mild calf injury," said Pederson before Thursday's practice.
"It's kind of day-to-day. We'll get through this game, get to next week. We break camp after this game and get into more of a normal, kind of in-season type schedule. With more rest on it, we'll see where he is for Atlanta," said Coach Pederson.
Tight End (TE)
- TE1: Evan Engram - Josiah Deguara - Patrick Murtagh
- TE2: Luke Farrell - Brenton Strange - Shawn Bowman - Chris Myarick
Offensive Line
- Left Tackle (LT): Cam Robinson - Walker Little - Cole Van Lanen
- Left Guard (LG): Ezra Cleveland - Blake Hance - Tyler Shatley
- Center (C): Mitch Morse - Luke Fortner - Darryl Williams

Defensive Line
- Nose Tackle (NT): DaVon Hamilton - Jeremiah Ledbetter - Tyler Lacy - Jordan Jefferson
- Defensive Tackle (DT): Arik Armstead - Roy Robertson-Harris - Esezi Otomewo - Maason Smith - Jonathan Marshall
- Defensive End (DE):
- Josh Hines-Allen - De'Shaan Dixon - D.J. Coleman - Raymond Johnson
- Travon Walker - Trevis Gipson - Rasheem Green - Myles Cole
Arik Armstead is continuing to re-acclimate himself following his activation from the team's physically unable to perform list (PUP).
Linebacker (LB)
- MIKE: Foyesade Oluokun - Ventrell Miller - Andrew Parker Jr.
- WILL: Chad Muma or Devin Lloyd - Caleb Johnson - Tanner Muse
- SAM: Chad Muma or Yasir Abdullah - Tanner Muse
Cornerback (CB)
- CB1: Ronald Darby - Montaric Brown - Christian Braswell - Jarrian Jones
- CB2: Tyson Campbell - Amani Oruwariye - Tre Flowers - Tevaugn Campbell - De'Antre Prince
- Nickel (NCB): Christian Braswell
Safety (S)
- S1: Andre Cisco - Antonio Johnson - Daniel Thomas - Erick Hallet II - Adrian Amos
- S2: Darnell Savage - Andrew Wingard - Terrell Edmunds - Josh Proctor - Tashaun Gipson Sr.
Special Teams (ST)
- Kicker (K): Cam Little
- Punter / Holder (P/H): Logan Cooke
- Long Snapper (LS): Ross Matiscik
Return Specialists (RS)
- Punt Returner (PR): Devin Duvernay - Parker Washington
- Kick Returner (KR): Devin Duvernay - Tank Bigsby
Coach Pederson did not rule any other players out, but many of the team's starters will likely sit out to allow the younger talent to prove to the coaching staff that they deserve a spot on the team's final 53-man roster.
Injury Report
LG Ezra Cleveland returned to practice Wednesday from the ankle/heel injury he sustained a week ago. Cleveland and Blake Hance continued to alternate snaps at guard as he worked back.
RB/RS Keilan Robinson was not in practice because of his toe sprain sustained during OTAs. He was nursing a walking boot Wednesday.
TE Patrick Murtagh did not practice after breaking his ankle a week ago; roster moves regarding Murtagh have yet to be made.
DT Arik Armstead was activated from the PUP list on Tuesday evening. It would seem he has recovered from his offseason meniscus surgery. He did not practice today and is not expected to play on Saturday.
LB Ventrell Miller practiced in full Thursday while wearing the red non-contact jersey.
S Andrew Wingard again missed practice due to the "significant" knee injury he sustained two weeks ago. On Monday, coach Pederson provided an expectation that Dewey's injury would keep him out for between 6 and 7 weeks.
S Darnell Savage practiced in full Thursday while still wearing the non-contact jersey. The team prioritizes caution as he works back from a torn rotator cuff injury in 2023.
S Daniel Thomas has a heel issue and is being held out as the team continues to be cautionary.
WR Christian Kirk has a mild calf injury, so the team held him out.
The Jacksonville Jaguars' second preseason game of the 2024 season, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will commence on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Everbank Stadium.
