Georgia's Next Star Tight End? Stanford Transfer Ben Yurosek

The Georgia Bulldogs have become one of the more prominent programs in college football for developing and producing NFL tight end talent.

Georgia is the only program to have had three tight ends drafted within the first three rounds over the last four years, including Brock Bowers (2024, Pick 13, Las Vegas Raiders), Darnell Washington (2023, Pick 93, Pittsburgh Steelers), and Tre' McKitty (2021, Pick 97, Los Angeles Chargers).

2025 is looking like another solid class at tight end for the Bulldogs. Junior Oscar Delp has already grabbed the attention of NFL scouts and is projected to be one of the marquee prospects in the next draft.

The former 2022 four-star prospect out of Cumming (Ga.) secured 24 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns in 2023 while serving as the second tight end behind Brock Bowers.

It doesn't stop there, as the Bulldogs may have found an under-the-radar gem in Stanford transfer Ben Yurosek.

After three seasons at Stanford, the 6"4, 257-pound senior elected to take his talent to Athens; Yurosek had 42 receptions in 2021, averaging over 15 yards per catch with three touchdowns.

"Obviously Georgia has the best of both worlds," Yurosek said. "They have big-time football and the use of tight ends."

The Bulldogs have a track record of 12 personnel in its offense, featuring two tight ends and one running back. In 2022, the team had the third-highest rate of 12 personnel at 59%, according to ESPN Stats & Information. We saw that number drop to 27% in 2023 due to Brock Bowers battling with injury throughout the year.

The addition comes at a good time, as tight end Pearce Spurlin had to retire from football due to a heart condition. A shoulder injury cut Yurosek's 2023 season short, but he finds himself in a perfect position to boost his draft stock.

"This year is going to be about my development in football and preparing myself for next steps for the future," Yurosek said. "I'm going to make sure I get the most Georgia has to offer, but keep football the main priority."

2025 will be another productive season at the tight end position. With Carson Beck returning as one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, the Georgia Bulldogs will be barking offensively once more.
